Who doesn’t love to solve a good problem or puzzle? Both math enthusiasts and emerging mathematicians will enjoy and benefit from this math camp. Our days will be filled with fun games, perplexing problems and logic puzzles waiting to be solved! These activities will help to strengthen and enrich students’ problem solving and logic skills, build personal math stamina, increase math confidence and develop overall number sense.
Our teachers work to meet each child at his/her instructional level. Through this individualized instruction, campers will be immersed in doing math at their level all day long. Activities will include focused fact practice, sharing strategies in "Number Talks", exploring ideas in math centers and stations as well as visits to the library, computer lab and art room where we will see MATH in action through books, technology and art.
Class size is limited to ensure individualized attention and a low student to teacher ratio. Your child’s love of math — along with the ability to solve problems with strengthened math stamina — will“multiply” with this experience!
Laura Domalik has been with Collegiate for more than 10 years. She has been a Kindergarten and 1st Grade teacher and currently serves as the K-2 Math Specialist running the K-2 Math Lab. As well as support from college student assistants.
