Spanish Immersion

June 9 - 13 • 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. (Session II)
$230 per session

This camp is intended for beginners and is ideal for the grade levels specific to the session. 
Dive into the vibrant culture of Costa Rica while learning Spanish! Throughout the Spanish for Beginners camp, students will learn essential language skills such as basic greetings, introducing themselves, expressing emotions, counting from 1 to 20, identifying colors, and naming parts of the body — all in Spanish. Led by Lower School Spanish teachers Lyanna DiNardo and Alice Innes, students will be engaged in a variety of fun activities, games, and cultural experiences to make learning effective and fun. ¡Pura vida y aprendamos español juntos! (Pure life, let's learn Spanish together!)

Alice Innes is a Spanish teacher in the Lower School at Collegiate. She has a B.A. in Spanish from Wake Forest University and a Masters in Education from George Mason University. Alice has over 15 years of experience teaching Spanish at the elementary, middle and high school level. Additionally, she designed and piloted a school-wide executive functioning program while teaching middle school in Fairfax County. 

Lyanna DiNardo is a Spanish teacher in the Lower School at Collegiate. Originally from Puerto Rico, she is a native Spanish-speaker. Before teaching at Collegiate, Lyanna taught in Richmond City public schools.
