Little Scholars was founded in 2006 and builds on founder Stephanie Jefferson’s belief that learning is most effective when done through play. In fact, while working with the Virginia Preschool Initiative Program, she helped develop the Learning Experience through Active Play (L.E.A.P.), a pilot focused on developmentally appropriate preschool enrichment activities.
While taking time off from the classroom to raise her children, Stephanie was approached by a friend about assessing her son’s kindergarten readiness. Word spread about a fine motor skills class in her home that she’d created and, before long, Stephanie had launched Little Scholars to bring her unique curriculum approach to life through a commitment to integrity, innovative spirit, valued relationships and passion for learning and education.
Today, Little Scholars works with children in preschool through 12th Grade at schools across the U.S. to provide after-school enrichment programs, summer camps and tutoring.
