July 7 – 11 • 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Campers will spend the week learning about foundational engineering and construction concepts while designing and building a full scale bridge with their team. The week will begin with research into structural designs and the use of truss systems, joint types and building of small scale models. Campers will budget and plan out the necessary supplies needed to build a full scale bridge.

Campers will then build the bridge and if successful, use it to cross over the creek here on Collegiate’s campus.

Farley Macdonald is a Collegiate Middle School science teacher and has always had an interest in the sciences. He loves when students ask questions and enjoys figuring out how to build things and make them work.
