There is something wonderful about looking closely student artwork.
Great art draws you in. It tunes you to a finer, subtler frequency of detail. It’s the piece that, upon looking, encourages you to step closer to the frame, examining the singularity and distinction of the little intricacies humming like the gears in a watch. A small detail, looked at in isolation, always has more than one thing on its mind: direction, velocity, contour, composition. If you check out the fall issue of the Collegiate’s Spark magazine, you will see some of those tiny exciting details within the pieces, which are shown here in their entirety, the summation of the small, beautiful details.
