Collegiate’s 2nd Grade performed the annual Fifty Nifty program today in Oates Theater.
Students presented the 50 states through song, artwork and interesting facts about each region including state songs, famous inventions and key people from the area.
The program started with a slideshow of students and their state hats from the States Fair Hat Parade, held on Feb. 5. Following the slideshow, the show opened with “Let’s Make Music, America.”
Throughout the performance, students were enthusiastic while singing along, dancing and displaying their American pride. During the singing of “Fifty Nifty,” 2nd Graders acknowledged their home state of Virginia as the “best” state.
Parents filled the chairs in Oates Theater to cheer on their children, and welcomed them with hugs and pictures following the performance.
Congratulations to the 2nd Graders on an informative and entertaining program and thank you to all the faculty and staff who made it possible!
