Recent Collegiate Graduate Receives Scholarship for Chinese Study

Mac Hester '20 received a $500 scholarship from the Ai Ling Guan Memorial Scholarship Fund for his diligent work and excellent performance in Chinese study. Mac is one of just 14 recipients selected among hundreds of applicants in the U.S. and Canada. 

 

The scholarship Mac received is named for Ms. Ai Ling Guan who taught Chinese for over 30 years in several countries. To commemorate her passion for teaching the Chinese language to both children and adults, her family set up a scholarship fund to honor those engaged in the study and teaching of Chinese. It awards students and teachers living in the USA and Canada who have demonstrated extreme persistence in either their dedicated learning or their outstanding teaching of the Chinese language.
