Nature Journaling

Anne Walker
Rising 1st Graders – Rising 3rd Graders
July 7 - 11 • 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
$230

Explore nature through drawing and writing as you spend time outside on the Collegiate campus. You will make your own nature journals, learn and practice drawing techniques, and write about what you experience in nature. Using pencil and watercolor as your primary media you will observe and then draw your representations of plants, animals, and the natural landscape.
Ms. Anne Walker, a 24-year veteran high school art teacher from Baltimore, Maryland, earned a BA in studio art from Notre Dame of Maryland University and an MFA in painting from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She currently teaches at Reveille Weekday School, subs at St. Catherine’s, and helps with the kindergarteners at Quest. In her free time, Ms. Walker paints local landscapes of farms in the counties surrounding Richmond and along the James. Her favorite things to do when not teaching or painting are spending time with her three grandchildren, hiking in the local state parks with her dog Finn, and gardening.
