BY ASHLEY JONES Two groups of Collegiate Upper Schoolers are studying abroad over the next couple of weeks with our partner schools in Morocco and Mexico.
During Jan. 16-23, six senior French students are traveling to Morocco under the leadership of faculty and staff members Maria Benson and Jamie Britto. They will be visiting our partner school George Washington Academy and experiencing French language immersion. Students and trip leaders are regularly posting on a travel blog, which can be viewed here.
On Jan. 28, 11 students will travel to our partner school, Carol Baur in Mexico, for the International Emerging Leaders: Americas Conference, an expansion of Collegiate’s Upper School global curriculum. This year’s conference is centered on human rights. Faculty members Elsie Bustamante and Erica Coffey will lead the trip through Feb. 4. Upon return, students will apply what they learned and design service trips within their own community.
