Art Walk 2009 Draws Big Crowds

Following last year's great success, the Collegiate Fine Arts Department once again curated and installed a campus wide Art Walk, with a diverse selection of art from kindergartners through seniors, including installations in stairwells, lobbies and outdoors.
Artists, friends and family all came out in force for the grand opening of Art Walk 2009, which took place April 6 from 5-7 p.m., and spanned the entire campus, from the hallways of Luck Hall, where the kindergarten classrooms are, to the Science Buildings, home to several very impressive senior art shows, to the Hershey Center for the Arts, where art from Lower, Middle and Upper School students were all represented.
Golf cart transportation was provided to shuttle people quickly from the Lower School to the Hershey Center, and the Fine Arts faculty strolled the campus, chatting with artists and admirers, and soaking up deserved praise for such inspired work from their students, and for developing such talented artists.
Art will be on display for a couple of weeks, so please come by and stroll through the campus to see the vision, passion and eclecticism of our student artists, and the interesting assignments from our teachers, many of which involved some aspect of "green," owing to the overall "green" theme at Collegiate this year.
