From the Hershey Center for the Arts all the way to Luck Hall, families made their ways across campus to view a dynamic array of student works of art. This year's event also included entertainment by VCU and Collegiate musicians, a family picnic, an interactive weaving wall, and an opportunity for viewers to vote for favorite compositions or installations. For those who would still like to see the show, the works will stay on view through May 1st.
Respond was the K-12 theme this year, and so classes looked to shows and collections at the recently reopened VMFA, as well as other collections, to inform their art before creating visual responses. Along with individual student compositions, group installations, collaborative works and an Art Walk banner painted by alumnus Marshall Higgins and US artists added to the festive evening.
