POSTCARD from Columbia University

Lower School teachers Sallie Tinney and Kim Smythe were at Columbia University Teachers College in NYC last week at the Reading and Writing Project Institute with Lucy Calkins. Their professional development was funded by an Alumni Grant. "We both loved it and are eager to begin writing with our students," says Sallie. "We had great weather and enjoyed walks in Central Park and outdoor dining. Also took in a visit to The Metropolitan Museum of Art and to the amazing Frick Collection."
